The 80's brought us a new generation of female singers, like, for example, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Tiffany, and Debbie Gibson.
Debbie was a teenage prodigy who was writing her own material when she released her debut, "Out of the Blue" in 1987. A year later, Debbie was back with the jazzy ballad, "Foolish Beat". While Tiffany was breaking new ground playing free concerts in shopping malls, and covering the likes of the Beatles (with the gender-reversed "I Saw Him Standing There") & Tommy James ("I Think We're Alone Now"), Debbie didn't have to plumb the archives. Oh, and, one more thing. She was easier on the eyes than Tiffany, as you'll see in "Foolish Beat".
