Musical Interlude: Candle in The Wind (1973)

Elton John originally recorded "Candle in The Wind" as a tribute to actress Marilyn Monroe in 1973 for his album, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". It wouldn't be the last time that Monroe would be immortalized in song, as Madonna name-checked her on 1990's "Vogue".

Nearly 25 years later, after the death of England's Princess Diana, John rewrote the lyrics to create a new "Candle" in her honor. We'll have that another day.
