Countdown to Christmas: What do you think Santa does for a living during the "off-season"? (2011)

Chevrolet came up with a clever ad campaign for the Christmas shopping season, positing Santa as a salesman named----wait for it----Nick (as in, St. Nicholas). Three spots have aired so far, and this one is a longer version than we've seen on TV:

  3. The poor guy was trying to be polite! He didn't want "Nick" to think ill of him for being a deer hunter.

    Of course there is a difference between deer and reindeer but, he probably didn't want to risk being put on the naughty list.

    I never got the impression the guy was a redneck.

  4. Oh, I get he was trying to choose his words as carefully as possible. In truth, I think he had nothing to fear.

    Based on what the advertising has been to sell the Silverado before Howie Long's run as a Chevy pitchman, my own thinking was this was a truck marketed mostly to the good ol' boys. I don't know too many people who drive a Silverado on city roads.
