Mere hours after the passing of former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno on Sunday, the haterizers from Westboro Baptist Church decided they would picket the funeral. Marge Phelps issued a series of tweets condemning Paterno for his lack of action in the child sex abuse scandal that cost him his job 2 months ago, but all this really is, of course, is an excuse for this flock of fools to extend their 15 minutes of infamy a wee bit longer. I read of their intentions on http://www.msn.com/, and just shook my head. They just won't go away.
They last picketed Steve Jobs' funeral, and had threatened to do the same when Elizabeth Taylor passed away, but never followed through because the movie icon's funeral was kept private and away from cameras. For the sake of the Paterno family, the Phelps' congregation of idiots needs to stay away. The last thing we need is the funeral becoming a media circus.
I know there's a First Amendment, but I really wish these obnoxious jerks would go away!
ReplyDeleteThey are not Christians in any sense of the word and apparentyly have nothing better to do than to crash funerals and bring upset to the loved ones attending.
Well, someone needs to lay a smackdown on these jabronies.
ReplyDeleteCrhyme: You're borrowing my line.
ReplyDeleteMagicdog: I've said often enough that they give Christians, Baptists, and any denomination in general a bad name. I've said enough about these cretins, but I thought it needed to be noted that they decided to go after Paterno's funeral.
I hope some Penn State linebackers plan to do a memorial tackel on these jerkoffs - accidentally of course!
ReplyDeleteActually, the best move would be to send for the fellas in the white jackets to pick up Rev. Phelps and his family before they even got there.
