    Did you notice that Elinor Donohue got her name in the opening credits alongside Don Knotts for a few episodes? It looks like they were considering making her a major character; I wonder what happened?

    I don't know exactly what happened, but she was written out, and eventually, the writers would eventually find "the one" for Andy in Opie's teacher, Helen (Aneta Corsault).
