I would venture to debate the point that Alabama would be country music's answer to, say for example, Journey.
Growing up in a household that favored country music over rock and pop, I did have some favorites growing up. Alabama's "Feels So Right", the title tune from their 1981 album, hit #1 on the country chart and just reached the top 20 on the pop chart. I would venture to guess that, since I didn't go to prom, this may just have been on the playlist anyway on prom night.
