The Starland Vocal Band was one of a zillion 1-hit wonders in the 70's. Today's audiences can revisit the lyrics to their 1976 #1 smash, "Afternoon Delight", and deduce that there were hints of innuendos in the song.
A year later, the group were given a self-titled variety show on CBS, backed by future icon David Letterman as a member of the repertory company. Lasted a month. The band split up four years after that, unable to duplicate their only hit.

The two couples in the band also split in real life, but the band would get back together years later. Nostalgia, you know.
