Richard & Karen Carpenter took part in the talent contest, Your All-American College Show, in 1968. The duo returned in the series' final season, promoting their A & M Records debut album, and performing a cover of the Beatles' "Ticket to Ride", which has become an oldies staple.
The clip begins with Arthur Godfrey and Ed Sullivan introducing the duo for an interview before "Ticket". Game show vet Dennis James hosted Your All-American College Show at one point, or for the full term. This show's another obscurity that doesn't have much in the way of online footprints.
You know you've made it when you've shared the stage with not one, but two show biz legends in Godfrey & Sullivan.
