Melanie scored her last top 40 hit in the winter of 1971-2, as "Brand New Key" shot up to #1 on the pop chart.
"Key" is getting plenty of airplay on oldies channels these days to satisfy those of us with a thirst for revisiting the innocent AM radio days of our youth.
