Two Fox Shmooze Dunces in need of a clue

In the wake of President Trump checking into Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington on Friday afternoon, two Fox Shmooze morons had extremely different takes on the situation.

While we all are praying for Trump, we might need to check Tabloid Carlson into the Rock's old haunt, the Smackdown Hotel. Carlson, on his Friday night yak-fest, made a false claim that CNN took the opportunity to bash Trump as he was going to the hospital. Given the severe seriousness of this situation, Tabloid Carlson should've checked his comedy act at the door. A judge recently bought into Fox Shmooze's argument that Carlson's show is virtually the network's answer to, say for example, Comedy Central's Daily Show, and that Carlson can't be taken seriously. Unfortunately, because Fox Shmooze is one of the President's go-to channels, and waves the pom-poms for him as much as possible, people are going to be pissed off at Carlson, Spam Hannity, and the rest of the clowns dominating the airwaves, and hoping Chris Wallace can get out of his contract and go to CBS, where his late father, Mike, won Emmy awards for 60 Minutes.

Not long after Trump checked into Walter Reed, The Five's Greg Gutfeld opined like an idiot that Trump caught the virus "for America", illustrating that the country "can't hide" from the virus.

As they used to say on radio, "T'ain't funny, McGee!".

It's been reported that Trump has experienced mild symptoms, such as fever and congestion, and will be at Walter Reed "a few days", which could be as little as a week or less. The hospital has Presidential offices so that official business can be conducted there (because Trump can't go a day without going on Twitter). Campaign manager Bill Stepien, ex-Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, and at least two Republican Senators have also tested positive since Trump himself broke the story late Thursday night that he and wife Melania had tested positive.

What that does is it throws the GOP's plans to swiftly confirm Amy Coney Barrett for Supreme Court into doubt. Mrs. Barrett, as well as VP Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, and Trump's three oldest children, Don, Jr., Eric, & Ivanka, all have tested negative, as have Joe & Jill Biden.

As Robert Burns wrote, the best laid plans of mice & men often go astray. One can pray and hope that COVID-19 gives Trump an epiphany, as Biden has publicly said he & Jill are praying for the Trump family. There are the idiots online who still believe Trump is faking in order to get out of the next debate in two weeks after his poor showing in Cleveland. I don't think there's any way you can fake this scenario.

If I may be so bold as to suggest it, if Trump does come out of this a changed man, it will remind some of Charles Dickens' most famous tome, A Christmas Carol, in which Scrooge experienced his own epiphany. For now, the President is confident that he'll come out of this just fine, as long as they caught it in time. And there is the chance that this could just get him some sympathy points at the polls next month. A slim chance, sure, but it might still be enough.
