President Trump thinks he can pardon himself. Not so fast.

With 6 1/2 weeks before Joe Biden is sworn in as our next President, Donald Trump's brainwashed supporters are still fighting a losing battle.

A local pastor has communism confused with socialism, and claims that if the election is not reversed, Biden and the Democratic party will lead this nation into communism. He points to a prophecy made by the late evangelist Kim Clement, who said 8 years ago that Trump would serve two terms. However, Clement never said it would be two consecutive terms, leaving the door open for Trump to run again, if able, in 2024.

What kills the prophecy, however, is Trump's very non-Christian behavior. While the mainstream media rarely, if ever, reports on meetings that Trump has had, on a regular basis, with Christian pastors, most prominently Paula White, other evangelists, such as Kenneth Copeland, have been publicly embarrassed. Copeland, for example, at a taping for his cable television program, laughed at the idea that Trump had been defeated. That turned into a viral meme all by itself.

In short, once respected men like Copeland and Rudy Giuliani have had their reputations tarnished by association with Trump. And still there are evangelicals insisting on supporting Trump?!? I respectfully disagree.

There are many instances in the Old Testament of kings who turned their backs on God, opting to serve false gods. Trump fits that category, whether Christians believe it or not. Simply substitute Trump's narcissistic, self-serving egomania for a pagan god. Instead of taking the lead in stopping the spread of coronavirus, Trump purposely downplayed it, thinking he could avoid national panic. Wrong! Panic had already started to set in.

Joe Biden is not a communist, nor a socialist. Instead, he identifies as a pragmatist. Big difference.

As for Trump's assertion that he can pardon himself, well, as ESPN's Lee Corso would say, not so fast, my friends. Dr. David Adler of the Alturas Institute explains why Trump can't pardon himself.

Trump, however, is too egotistical to follow the example of Richard Nixon, who resigned not even halfway through his 2nd term due to Watergate, and was subsequently pardoned by his successor, Gerald Ford. The prudent move would be for Trump to resign with 6 1/2 weeks to go, and have Mike Pence pardon him. As of now, that's not going to happen. Trump is so caught up in his delusion that the election was rigged (it wasn't), such that he's passed the point of no return, and his rally in suburban Georgia Saturday turned into a predictable whine-fest where he played the victim card, and torpedoed the whole point of the rally, which was to drum up support for Georgia Senators David Perdue & Kelly Loeffler, with a runoff election next month. Simply the last thing the Georgia GOP needed was for Trump to show up, whining and crying, after he'd blasted Governor Brian Kemp earlier in the week.

What else could you expect from America's Oldest Baby? Humility? Fuhgeddaboutit!

Pastors are telling their congregations to wake up. The church does need to wake up, and realize that they have been deceived, supporting the wrong man for the last four years. As God replaced king after king that rebelled against Him, surely He has anointed Biden to replace Trump. A Catholic in place of a man claiming to be Presbyterian. God doesn't like being mocked, and Donald John Trump will pay a steep price for his deceptions.
