Celebrity Rock: Hey, Jude (1970)

Ladies & gentlemen, Pat Paulsen & The Fathers.....

This was taken from Pat Paulsen's Half a Comedy Hour. Like, who knew Pat could sing, much less play the piano (or at least pretend to do that much)? Not exactly brunch time at the Senior Citizens Center, but well, that was the joke.

  1. About The Fathers:

Pat Paulsen formed this "group" for his nightclub act, which he did during off-time from the Smothers Brothers shows.
They were three veteran Hollywood musical performers: Harry Stanton*, Ernie Newton, and Hal Hopper, whose credits can be found in many movies and TV shows over the years.

    * Not to be confused with Harry Dean Stanton, a different person who came along later (he had to bill himself as Dean Stanton in the earlier part of his career).

  2. This was a sketch, sure, but musically very effective.
