Sports this 'n' that

With the NL East leading Philadelphia Phillies in Miami for the weekend, some Phillies fans appeared to make the pilgrimage to Florida, but one fan should've checked herself before she wrecked herself.

The Phils' Harrison Bader, a mid-season acquisition from Minnesota, had homered, and one fan retrieved the ball to give his son a memento for the occasion. The kid even brought his glove.

Unfortunately, a woman felt the pop had crossed into her personal space, and she wasn't having it. She demanded the ball, and got it, leading to boos from Marlins fans.

Fortunately, as the NY Post YouTube channel reveals, father & son ended up winners after all, just like the Phils. It was the boy's birthday.

May the woman have to sit through a 2 week binge of Golden Girls for being so rude.

Maybe the worm is turning in the AFC West.

The Los Angeles Chargers sent a loud message in Brazil Friday, upsetting Kansas City, and, for now, anyway, taking sole possession of 1st place. The Chiefs lost receiver Xavier Worthy to a shoulder injury in the 1st quarter, and if he's not ready to go in 8 days, the Chiefs are in trouble, since up next for them is a rematch of the Super Bowl vs. Philadelphia. The Eagles opened defense of their title by beating Dallas on Thursday, making Jerry Jones look real foolish for trading away Micah Parsons a week before the game.

All throughout the NFL season last year, WWE's Seth Rollins (Colby Lopez) whined on social media whenever his favorite team, the Chicago Bears, lost a game, and it was pretty often.

Now a World champion, Rollins was in Chicago Friday for Smackdown with his wife, women's Intercontinental champion Becky Lynch (Rebecca Quin-Lopez) to taunt hometown hero CM Punk. Unfortunately for Rollins, Punk had some backup.......

AJ Lee (April Mendez-Brooks) had left WWE 10 years ago, became a best selling author, and, it appears she has been in the gym preparing for a comeback all along. Expect a mixed tag team match between the two couples, probably at Wrestlepalooza in 2 weeks, at the earliest.

Now you know where Roxanne Perez got the idea to pose with her hands clasped behind her back when she enters an arena.

Congratulations to former AEW champion Maxwell J. Friedman, who married his lady love, erstwhile reporter Alicia Atout, on Friday. Alicia had been with TNA and Major League Wrestling, and in the latter promotion, she not only met MJF, but had dated his former tag team partner, Richard Holliday.
