Lair Scott is the alleged genius who created an online petition earlier this week, calling for Bert & Ernie, two long running characters from PBS' Sesame Street, to be, well, united in more ways than one.
What Scott is implying is that with same-sex marriage now legal in New York, where Sesame Street is based, it's time to let go of the pretenses and have Sesame Workshop, the show's producers, acknowledge that the two beloved Muppets happen to be gay, or so Scott sees it, as do a number of others. Scott's reasoning is that it would enable gay & lesbian children to learn about tolerance.
Ah, but Sesame Workshop isn't buying Scott's logic. They say, rightfully, that Bert & Ernie are just friends, and always have been, and that there never has been a gay subtext. Now, I don't know if the subject of homosexuality has ever been addressed on Sesame Street over the course of its 42 years on the air, but it's a subject that, in this writer's opinion, may be too mature for the show's target audience, which is made up of mostly pre- & elementary school children. Bert & Ernie have always been perceived as being among the classic comedy teams, like Abbott & Costello, Laurel & Hardy, and Bugs Bunny and either Daffy Duck or Elmer Fudd. Scott is not doing this with children in general in mind, but if he wants to pursue his agenda, I'm sure that he'll find someone willing to accomodate him. In the meantime, though, he's better off leaving well enough alone on hallowed ground such as Sesame Street.
Long story short, Lair Scott, for you, this post is sponsored by the letter "W", for Weasel.

Ugg! I thought CTW and SS were both out of Toronto. I notice this charechtor never has a public face. I see local TV showing pride parades, while interviewing him, never showing him. He supposedly has a gay concert 501c3. Never heard of a gay concert scheduled for any charity or gay benefit. He's supposedly lived all around the country, with many zip codes. The guy himself has no actual credibility. Now he goes on blasting Republican candidates in Facebook's 'Ohio LGBTQ' closed group. I hope Ron Murphy goes after him. Lair had the gall to call him a racist. Really Lair?
Sesame Street & The Muppets have always been as American as apple pie.
Lair Scott was just looking to get his 15 minutes by piggy-backing onto one of the most endearing & enduring franchises of the late 20th century. The fact that we haven't heard from this clown again since 2011 tells you something.
He just wants to be famous.
Also, not a winner. He wanted me to use my FB group as a political forum. He was adamant about it. When I told him my group was not for that, he bitched me out, then unjoined. I then blocked his access to see my group. He acted like a 3 year old baby. Is this who WE need as a public representative? A definite no!
FYI, I had to pull down his postings within my FB group, then I confronted him about it. That's when I was yelled at for not doing good for my community. Victim victim victim.
If he wants something to cry about, maybe talk about local LGBTQAI+ representation on local newscasts, as WTVG never had anyone, and only a sprinkling on 11 and 24. Also, no LGBTQAI+ local spots. Subject or charechtors. Maybe how Gay 100 and all the hick channels don'thave openLGBTQAI+ on air, as air talent (new term for DJ's).
At the end of the day, Scott is and always was a troll.
