Weasel of the Week: Roy Moore

There are sore losers, and, then, there is Roy Moore.

With the state of Alabama about to certify the election of Democrat Doug Jones to the US Senate, where he'll be sworn in next week by Vice President Mike Pence, Moore believes that there was voter fraud because of an unusually high turnout in certain sections of the state, something he believes led to Jones' victory.

State election officials don't see it that way, and while Moore, still facing charges of sexual harassment involving underage girls that have been brought up from several years ago, filed a lawsuit to block the certification of Jones, those same officials have said they will go through with the certification process today.

Get over yourself, Mr. Moore. You lost. End of story. You claim to be a Christian, but this is not the way a Christian operates or behaves. You had the support of President Trump, which, in hindsight, may have turned out to be the kiss of death, considering the fact that Trump is perhaps the most unpopular President in years. Being in denial over the election and publicly making a spectacle of losing gets you a set of Weasel ears, the last pair to be awarded in 2017.

Watch. The lawsuit will be thrown out before New Year's Eve, and life will go on, and in Alabama, they'll go back to frenzied idol worship of Alabama football.........!

Update, 2:44 pm (ET): Jones has been certified as having been elected to the Senate. Meanwhile, a judge has dismissed Moore's lawsuit, likely because it was without merit.

I think you're looking at this all wrong.

First of all, the vote was close - by a little over 2 thousand votes. That's more than enough to demand a recount - especially when you consider voter fraud (using illegals and made up ballots) could easily been at play here. Unfortunately, the Swamp of TN decided to brush all this aside, violate its own laws and certify Jones as the winner.

Personally, I never did buy the sudden claims of harrassment from Moore's past. I always find it suspicious that this never came up in previous elections (not to mention he was former Chief Justice of TN Supreme Court). Suddenly some bowling alley queens come out and claim he signed their yearbooks 40 years ago (signing it - misspellings and all) while Gloria Allred refused to let anyone closely examine it. Where is she now? Oh yeah, she and her daughter have been connected to a scheme in which they were paid money by the DNC to offer to people willing to come forward to slander those they don't like. I guess it takes more than a dollar through a trailer park these days.

From the political pundits POV, this was vindication that the DNC would rise again and another innocent life smeared. Those more in tune with MAGA say they have 2 years to work on it (and perhaps find a different candidate) and Jones may get the boot then.

This was Alabama, not Tennessee, Magicdog.

Allred was given a judge's robe for a TV show not long ago, which I think bombed. Small wonder she went back to ambulance chasing.

President Trump initially didn't support Moore, but his primary opponent instead, and when that failed, he went to Moore, which to the Alabama Democrats might've been the ammunition they needed.

Now, all we need do is school the President on two things:

1. Stop using Twitter to pick fights with the press, political rivals, et al.
2. He says he's a Christian, so let the Bible be his guide.

Sorry - for some reason, I said TN when it should have been AL.

True, Trump backed Moore's Republican rival, but at least he backed the winner of the primary. The fools at the RNC couldn't be bothered to do that much.

However, Trump doesn't pick fights - he answers and he wins them!

The media hates the fact they have a guy who is outside their sphere. Thanks to the internet, one doesn't need press rooms anymore - much less receive indignant whining from reporters who are already one sided in any argument. Trump by using Twitter, goes around them. He takes his message to the public directly. The press hates that. Since Trump won, I've seen the media (and plenty of other swamp rats) lose their proverbial minds! I know I'm not used to seeing presidents do what they say they will do - only to see unelected judges declare it can't be allowed.

None of these idiots on Congress will do what truly needs to get done in this country. Status quo keeps them in power. They don't know what it is to actually work to get something done. Trump was no paper pusher when he was "Private Citizen Trump" and he seems to be the same guy as President.

The problem with Trump is that the media presents him as a 70-something child who uses Twitter to throw tantrums at anything and everything that offends him, and that those in the media that are predisposed against him will look for something, such as the current imbroglio over his singing along with the Star Spangled Banner Monday night in Atlanta, to rag on him about. Worse, he continues to perpetrate the notion that he's the Ugly American to appeal to the real Ugly Americans, the real life Archie Bunker types hiding in plain sight.

As I said before, Trump needs to use the Bible more to guide his administration, otherwise, he's inviting further trouble.
