With the controversy surrounding Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa still a prominent news story, two more NFL teams had to deal with concussion issues involving their quarterbacks.
Tyrod Taylor, a 2nd string QB for the Giants, left today's game against Chicago with an apparent concussion. Taylor, a journeyman whose past stops have included Buffalo and Cleveland, had entered after starter Daniel Jones left with an ankle injury. Taylor briefly returned, and lined up at receiver in the Wildcat formation with star running back Saquon Barkley running the offense, before being ruled out for the day.
In Green Bay, New England 2nd stringer Brian Hoyer, playing in place of injured starter Mac Jones, was knocked from the game after a 1st quarter sack. A subsequent evaluation ruled him out for the rest of the game. The Giants played with fire briefly before ruling Taylor out. The Patriots, on the other hand, after seeing what happened with a division rival, opted for safety first. This isn't the end, by any stretch.
