What Might've Been: Lanigan's Rabbi (1976-7)

Lanigan's Rabbi, based on a series of novels, was the last series created for the NBC Sunday Mystery Movie. A pilot, "The Day The Rabbi Slept Late", kicked things off in 1976, and then, the series began in January 1977, with Emmy & Oscar winner Art Carney as Police Chief Paul Lanigan. The rabbi in the title, Rabbi David Small, was played in the series by Bruce Solomon, but in the pilot, Stuart Margolin (The Rockford Files, ex-Love, American Style) essayed the role.

Edit, 10/27/23: Had to change the video. This copy is from a syndicated airing on WABC in NYC, including commercials and PSA's.
