Blues Traveler had three albums under their collective belt by the time "Four" was released in 1994. In the winter of 1995, the first single, "Run-Around", was released to record stores and radio, peaking at #8 on the Hot 100.
The video is a riff on "The Wizard of Oz", right down to a more photogenic band, whose singer flails about like Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, appearing on stage in place of John Popper and Blues Traveler. Ken Ober (ex-Remote Control, Parenthood) plays the club owner.
Popper would give acting a try as well, appearing in "Blues Brothers 2000", where he not only sang on the soundtrack, but also dubbed in the harmonica tracks supposedly being done by Buster (J. Evan Bonifant). A couple of years prior, as previously documented, Popper appeared on the original Roseanne, leading to Dan Connor (John Goodman) sitting in with the band.
