Musical Interlude: Too Young (1972)

The Grand Dame of Comedy, Lucille Ball, cedes center stage to Donny Osmond in this 1972 episode of Here's Lucy.

Lucy and her daughter, Kim (Lucy's real-life daughter, Lucie Arnaz), attend a cabaret performance by Osmond, who develops a crush on Kim, leading to the usual storyline complications. Eve Plumb (The Brady Bunch/Brady Kids) also guest stars.

Here, Donny performs a cover of Nat King Cole's "Too Young":

Donny & his brothers also had their own animated series on ABC, debuting alongside The Brady Kids, but for a different studio.

The Osmonds are exceptional entertainers!

Donny & Marie wrapped up their residency here in LV a few months back. They were still selling out nightly pre-covid. People were so sad to see their run end. They still have what it takes!

When we were little, my sister and I used to watch the Donny & Marie variety show - we even had the dolls!

And probably stocked up on Hawaiian Punch, which the sibs endorsed. Good thing their parents waited until Donny's voice matured before launching the variety show (the Osmonds cartoon, sans Marie, lasted one season on ABC).
