Seems that in the pre-Monkees period of the 60's, NBC was having trouble finding a hit on Mondays.
In 1962, after flopping with an adaptation of Michael Shayne two years earlier, NBC acquired Saints & Sinners, another Four Star drama, this one headlined by Nick Adams (ex-The Rebel) in what would be his last series gig. Adams played reporter Nick Alexander, who was given tough story assignments.
Unfortunately, Saints was another dud for Four Star & NBC, which also flopped with the Dean Jones sitcom, Ensign O'Toole, the same year.
In this sample, Nick's on the entertainment beat, connecting with an actress who left Hollywood under questionable circumstances. Barbara Eden (ex-How to Marry a Millionaire, 3 years away from I Dream of Jeannie) and Janet Waldo (The Jetsons) are among the guest stars.
Edit, 12/2/25: Have to change the video. Here's a sample intro:
Rating: B.
