Musical Interlude: In The House of Stone & Light (1994)

Toasterrodeo uploaded a 1-hit wonder from Martin Page, circa 1994. "In The House of Stone & Light" garnered a ton of airplay---well, at least on radio; not sure about VH1 or MTV---and was the title song from Page's major label debut. The guest stars on the CD were more of an attraction. Folks like Brenda Russell, J. Robbie Robertson (The Band), & Phil Collins helped Page out considerably. Page, unfortunately, hasn't been heard from much since.

Hmmm, I wonder if this could be revamped with Christian sensibilities.........

I always liked this song - kind of reminded me of "Mister Mister" as far as production style goes.

Sometimes you have got to give it to the one hit wonders of music history - the songs were often as memorable if not moreso, as those of the singers or bands that had multiple hits.

It was around this same time that Mr. Mister frontman Richard Page had attempted a comeback with a new band, 3rd Matinee, but they too were a 1-hit wonder. Hmmmmm.

I never understood what the lyrics meant, but it had a nice sound.

I felt the same way. I also felt this was falling more toward what Peter Gabriel was doing around that time.....
