Musical Interlude: (She's) Sexy & 17 (1983)

While school has started again for the young ones in different parts of the country (the Northeast catches up beginning next week), let's take a time trip back to 1983. Not sure if they still have school teachers as stern as the educator making a cameo at the start of the Stray Cats' 1983 hit, "(She's) Sexy & 17", off the album, "Rant 'N' Rave With The Stray Cats".

Love the Stray Cats!

My parents were part of the first generation of Rock & Roll, so I received my first exposure to 50s music early on. Rockabilly was a given and it was so great to have a (then) current band who could emulate the music, the look (albeit with a bit more edge and attitude), and still compete on the charts with the likes of Michael Jackson and Duran Duran.

Their music is still strong and all the guys have done well musically since then - Brian Setzer in particular! I love his version of "Jump Jive & Wail" even Louis Prima would have approved!

Maybe you could also celebrate school with two other famous "education" videos: "Hot For Teacher" by Van Halen and "Teacher, Teacher" By 38 Special.

I've got plans for those videos this week as well. Of course, I already have Hall & Oates' "Adult Education", which I posted a year or two back.
