When comedy legends meet: Groucho shills for Right Guard (1974)

Chuck McCann was well into his stint as the "Hi, guy!" guy for Right Guard deodorant when an opportunity arose to work with one of the all time icons of comedy.

In essence, Groucho Marx is standing in for McCann's usual foil, Bill Fiore, in this 1974 spot.

In case you wonder, I think Groucho was the only one of the Marx Brothers to do commercials, although the makers of Vlasic pickles hired a Groucho mimic to voice its iconic stork......

Check out YouTube for a couple of commercials that Chico and Harpo Marx did for Prom Home Permanent (Chico narrates, Harpo demonstrates).

Oh, by the way ...
... that's Pat Harrington doing the Groucho voice in the Vlasic pickles spot.

I've always wondered about that, but other actors have been credited in more recent times.
