What Might've Been: Time Out For Ginger (1962)

Ziv was on its last legs in the early 60's, such that a comedy pilot that would've sold in the 50's didn't sell in 1962.

Time Out For Ginger has been described as a sort-of distaff Dennis The Menace, with Candy Moore in the title role as Virginia "Ginger" Carol. Like Dennis Mitchell (Jay North), Ginger can be a bit of a pest insofar as her mother is concerned, while her father, who apparently may have had a job with NASA or something, since it's referenced that he was returning from Cape Canaveral in Florida, is oblivious to it all.

Karl Swenson, who played the father, is better known for various character roles during the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Margaret Hamilton ("The Wizard of Oz") didn't land another series gig, and resurfaced as a pitch-woman for Maxwell House coffee in the 70's.

Roberta Shore (Joan) later turned up on The Virginian for a couple of seasons. Candy Moore would join the cast of The Lucy Show, and today is a school teacher in California.
