A little of this and a little of that

For the first time since World War II, the annual tennis championships at Wimbledon will not be contested this year due to COVID-19. It's beginning to look like the remaining tennis Grand Slam events might not make it. At last check, the French Open was either postponed or cancelled outright. The US Open, which runs in late August-early September, could be the next to be sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Open Championship, otherwise known to PGA fans as the British Open, has also been cancelled.

It's only going to get worse for sports junkies----and everyone else----before it gets better.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has been the medical expert attached to President Trump's COVID-19 task force, has been receiving threats lately from extremely stupid supporters of the president, who think Fauci is a fraud, just because of a 7 year old tweet in which he praised Trump's 2016 opponent, Hillary Clinton, in regards to the Benghazi scandal.

To these idiots, I say, get a life. Fauci is working with the President, trying to keep Trump on point in regards to COVID-19. If you can't see that, there's something wrong with you. As advertisements for various sponsors on television & radio will tell you, we're all in this together.

For those of you who are still ignorant enough to resort to panic buying, shutting out other consumers from buying things they need, stop and think.

You're not paying full atttention to the reports regarding COVID-19. Instead, you freeze, you let fear take control. You're not the only ones who need hand sanitizer, toilet paper (?), paper towels, disinfectant wipes, etc.. The rest of us do, too.

And the panic buying has spread to anti-bacterial dish detergents and hand soaps, as well as essential food products such as bread. Show some respect for your fellow man. We're all trying to ride out the storm. Don't be selfish!

It's insanity here as well! I thought by now the panic buying would stop but no such luck. We even had a local story about a woman who runs an animal rescue/farmer's market who after customers had bought all the available goods (eggs, bread, etc.) and left for the day, found someone had taken ALL of her hand sanitizer and toilet paper from her public restroom!!!

Fortunately, members of the community came together to replace what was taken and now she has about a year's worth of both!

Luckily, I already had plenty of such things anyway since I regularly stay stocked, but it will always be FOOD and clean water (and by extension, electricity) that matters far more to me.

This is because people stop listening when overtaken by fear of things they don't understand.

Let me give you an example of how corporate owners are slow to react.

When the panic buying began, Dollar Tree stores in my area had to wait for approval from corporate to impose buying limits on certain high demand items. They're still selling out on hand sanitizer and paper products because impatient people can't wait. They don't pay attention to the news, and only think about themselves and their own self-preservation, ignorant of others.

I guess it's just good timing that I bought a pack of 6 double-rolls of Charmin before this all started........

Tell me hobbyfan, who is responsible for this catastrophic outbreak?

What we know is that it started in China late last year, and made its way here earlier this winter. President Trump's big mistake was not taking it as a serious threat right away. The longer this goes on, the chances of his re-election start to shrink, save for the fact that the Democrats aren't exactly inspiring confidence.

The "outbreak" is more likely the result of 5G symptoms. Wuhan is an early adopter of the technology as are other places where 5G was installed en masse.

I have seen plenty of vids from around the US showing white trucks with workers installing the equipment despite "quarantines". Hospitals also seem empty of corona victims, ambulances stacked but not bringing in corona patients, and field hospitals empty.

Where have you read of it, videos aside?
