Musical Interlude: Say You, Say Me (1985)

Licensing issues kept Lionel Richie's Oscar winning ballad, "Say You, Say Me", off the "White Nights" soundtrack CD, otherwise it would've boosted the sales of the album even more, as it was the 2nd #1 hit from the film (the other was the Phil Collins-Marilyn Martin duet, "Separate Lives"). More than 20 years later, when the CD was reissued, "Say You" was finally added.

If you have never seen the movie, the video may provide enough incentive to rent it on DVD. The poetry in motion of Russian ballet legend Mikhail Baryshnikov and American actor-dancer Gregory Hines in the scenes depicted in the movie, despite the conflicts between their characters in the context of the movie, would be worth the price of admission.

Enough said.
