When Icons Meet: Jack Benny enters the Twilight Zone (1963)

We've seen how Jack Webb can do comedy. What could happen if Rod Serling did the same?

That question was answered in January 1963, when Serling was the special guest on The Jack Benny Program. Jack is, as he explains to his secretary (Maudie Prickett), interested in having Serling work with his writers to shake things up a little. The sketch sending up Twilight Zone is classic Jack.

Now, I have to see if Serling did something similar while doing Night Gallery for NBC a few years later, like appearing on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, as Webb did.

Rating: A.
